What to do after adding FFXI Gils to your FFXI Accounts

So you are ready to buy gils but you have no idea what to spend those FFXI gils on. Well here’s some quick tips on what to get and why.

The first thing you need to do with your FFXI accounts is get some good gear. This of course will depend on your class and your level. To get the most out of your FFXI gils you need to buy smart. Don’t just jump at the first thing that presents itself. You need to do some research and make sure your FFXI gils go a long way towards making you more gils and towards making your time in Final Fantasy XI fun.

When looking at weapons you need to balance damage, delay and additional effects against the cost. Just like when you want to buy FFXI gil, you need to make sure you’re getting the best value.

Those Final Fantasy XI gil aren’t just for weapons. You need to maintain a respectable defense on your FFXI accounts as well. That’s accomplished by shields and armor. Shields (if you can use them) and armor are definitely easier to track than weapons as you can only get a new possible item every so many levels. So from level 8 to 28 don’t bother buying a new shield as the defense only increases one point. Save some money until you’re level 28 and then get the Kite Shield which is almost three times more defense points. (Here’s a good resource for game information based on job. click here)

You can take these rules and apply them to all the gear you purchase after you buy cheap gil. That will definitely mean you stretch those Final Fantasy XI gil to gain the most value from them.

You will eventually run out of gil again, unless you’re smart with the gil that you bought and use them wisely. Then again, you could always return to buy more cheap gil for your FFXI accounts.
